SPIRIT Scholars Strive to Spread Holiday Spirit in 2009 - ConocoPhillips presented The University of Tulsa with its annual donation of $375,000 in 2009. From these funds, $200,000 was focused toward the ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholars, a program dedicated to providing scholarships, career development and enrichment activities for students selected as SPIRIT scholars. During the holiday season, TU’s 19 recipients again gave back to the community that which was already given to them.

ONEOK CEO Kicks Off Lecture Series on Ethics - John Gibson, chief executive officer of ONEOK and chairman and chief executive officer of ONEOK Partners, spoke to a crowd of about 200 students and faculty in November during the inaugural ONEOK Lecture Series on Business Ethics at the Collins College of Business.

Center Gives Back to Business Community with Special Program - With local company training budgets slashed or eliminated due to the economy, the Center for Executive and Professional Development decided to offer a special $29 “stimulus” program December 14th. A total of 214 people took advantage of the one-day Modern Project Management course—learning some new project skill sets while getting motivated about business again.

Student Spotlight
On the banks of the oil-rich North Sea, The Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen, Scotland provided an unmatched environment for Becky Bowden to broaden her horizons on energy management and law. Bowden, an energy management senior at TU’s Collins College of Business, is the first participant in an exchange program with RGU, as part of TU’s Energy Management Program.
